The Home Insulation scheme, which is managed on behalf of the Scottish Government by the Energy Saving Trust, is designed to improve the energy efficiency of houses by promoting and installing insulation and other energy saving measures. The scheme works alongside the Scottish Government’s Energy Assistance Package and other programmes such as Orkney Action for Warmer Homes, to help alleviate fuel poverty.
In delivering the scheme in the Orkney Islands, we will be working closely with Orkney Islands Council, Eday Partnership, Energy Action Westray, Island of Hoy Development Trust, Rousay, Wyre and Egilsay Development Trust, Sanday Development Trust, the housing association and other partner organisations to maximise the benefits to householders across the islands.
We require an enthusiastic individual with a good knowledge of their local communities to assist in promoting the Home Insulation Scheme. Activities will involve identification of pulse points in the community, distribution of posters, organisation of and attendance at community events and generation of local PR.
Changeworks will be managing a team of energetic and driven individuals to implement The Scottish Government’s Home Insulation Scheme for all properties across the Orkney Islands and you will work directly with that team.

Changeworks is actively recruiting a large team of energetic and driven individuals to implement The Home Insulation Scheme for properties across most Local Authorities areas in South East Scotland.
You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills. Your main task will be to mentor and motivate the team of home energy assessors ensuring that high quality advice is given. You will be responsible for ensuring that the team deliver the assessments in the tight time scales and be our link to our central administration team.
Full training in energy awareness to City & Guilds standard will be provided for all Assessor roles. Successful candidates will undergo a customised training programme in customer engagement and all aspects relating to the provision of quality energy advice.
We are seeking candidates to work primarily on a full time basis. Applicants who wish to work part time hours which meet our requirements will also be considered. Candidates should be prepared to work flexible hours, up to six days per week. Other options such as staff secondments from, or sub-contract arrangements with community groups would also be considered including those from community groups funded by the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund.

Senior Home Energy Assessors (£8.87/hour) – up to 6 vacancies (various locations)
Your role will be to provide energy advice to householders, gather energy data on the property and provide tailored advice to the householder. This may result in signing up the householder for insulation measures where their home is suitable or helping them access wider support to reduce their fuel bills. This is a field based role interacting with householders on their doorstep.
Full training in energy awareness to City & Guilds standard will be provided for all Assessor roles. Successful candidates will undergo a customised training programme in customer engagement and all aspects relating to the provision of quality energy advice.

Data Management Administrator (Ref HISDATA) – 2 Posts (Edinburgh & Inverness)
AP1/AP2 £16,710 - £19,830 plus 8% pension contribution
We have a requirement to manage large volumes of householder and referral data across the organisation. We are seeking two highly organised staff with database or CRM experience with excellent communication skills and a mature, responsible, client focussed attitude. Operating as a team across both advice centres you will process data collected by energy assessors from handheld PDAs, ensure accurate input in to CRM database. You will also be responsible for managing referral data sent to insulation contractors and other agencies and for obtaining feedback to ensure the CRM system accurately reflects action taken and installed measures. Development, documentation and maintenance of operating procedures are an important aspect of the role. You will be expected to manage feedback to staff to improve quality of data on an ongoing basis.

These roles will suit ambitious administrators who thrive in taking responsibility for the fulfillment of daily tasks to a high standard. You will be responsible for staffing our survey booking line and sending out letters confirming assessor appointments. Data needs to be entered accurately and cross referenced with our internal CRM system to ensure that weekly referrals are fully accurate.

HIS Quality Assurance Manager (Ref HISQAM) (Edinburgh or Inverness)

This role will be key in our drive to maintain a consistent approach to deliver home energy assessments to a consistently high standard. This role will be responsible for carrying out field based audits of assessor performance. Feedback and coaching will be delivered through team leaders. You will also be responsible for incorporating key learning points and resources into the assessor reference manuals. Regular travel throughout Scotland will be a key feature of this role.

Real Nappy Project Volunteers
The Real Nappy Project is recruiting volunteers who live in the Edinburgh and Lothians area, who have experience of using real nappies on their babies and would like to help spread the word about the many benefits of using real nappies.
Volunteers would be requested to help in a variety of ways, depending on the time you have available and your preferences. Tasks include putting up posters in local shops and community centres etc. to advertise Nappuccinos and demonstrations, helping out at these events and giving out real nappy information at events.

The Changeworks Master Composter Project is looking for volunteers in the Edinburgh and Lothians area.
Master Composters will be trained in how to home compost during two sessions, before going back into their own communities to spread the composting message. This will be achieved through home visits, talks and workshops and by being a source of advice and support to new and existing composters.
