Get advice on saving water in Edinburgh
Water may seem a bountiful resource in Scotland, but there’s more to consider than this summer’s rainfall as Oliver Musgrave, the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre’s new Water Efficiency Advisor explains: “Around 30% of our household gas bills come from hot water consumption, so water and energy efficiency really do go hand in hand. It’s very easy to start saving just call us on 0800 512 012 for free, impartial and expert advice.”
The City of Edinburgh has been chosen as one of three areas in the UK to benefit from a water advice pilot. The local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre’s free, impartial and expert advice has now expanded to include water efficiency, as well as its existing services which already cover energy efficiency, small-scale renewables and personal transport.
Reducing your water consumption can not only save you money, but will greatly reduce your impact on the environment. It’s not just heating water that produces carbon dioxide emissions, but extracting, cleaning and delivering water into our homes uses energy and creates carbon emissions too. So by using water more efficiently you will be helping the environment in more ways than one.
For free, impartial and expert advice on how to cut energy and water waste and save money and the environment call the local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre free on 0800 512 012.
