Up to 130 local homes are to receive upgrades to improve their energy efficiency, making their homes easier and less expensive to heat.
Moray Council and Changeworks have secured £1.8m funding from the Scottish Government’s Energy Efficient Scotland: Area Based Schemes (EES: ABS) to deliver energy efficiency projects across Moray.
The EES:ABS projects seek to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions from homes, helping householders to save money on energy bills.
With the cost of energy bills and other living costs rising sharply, projects like this one have never been more crucial.
Changeworks is the largest managing agent of Area Based Schemes in Scotland and has delivered projects for local authorities across Scotland for more than twelve years. This is the second collaboration between the two organisations, with Changeworks also delivering energy-efficient improvement works on Council-owned homes.
Householders across Moray can register their interest in the projects to receive to a range of measures in their homes, such as wall insulation, air source heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage.
The funding secured by Moray Council and Changeworks will mean householders can have these measures installed at a significantly reduced cost, and in some cases for free.
Leader of Moray Council, Cllr Kathleen Robertson, said: “With the increased costs of heating our homes, I’d encourage those who receive a letter from Changeworks to consider registering their interest to receive discounted or free energy efficiency measures for their home.
“As well as making our homes run using more energy-efficient technology, it can have a positive impact as we work towards our net-zero aspirations.”
Selected households will receive information in the post from Moray Council and Changeworks detailing on how to register their interest in the projects. If you would like to find out more information on the projects and how they can benefit you, please call Changeworks on 0131 539 8603.
