Our leadership team and board is comprised of individuals with a wide range of expertise and experience, from the environmental, social and construction sectors.
This depth of knowledge is vital to Changeworks achieving its strategic goals to support Scotland’s net zero targets.
Josiah Lockhart
Josiah joined Changeworks as Chief Executive in September 2022, and has been a leading voice and champion of the purpose led business and social enterprise sector for the past 15 years. Prior to joining Changeworks, Josiah was Group CEO of social enterprise and purpose leading support agencies FirstPort, FirstImpact Business and the investment fund Impact Investment Partnership.
Josiah also sits on the board of directors of Warmworks, a large UK-wide company providing decarbonisation services.
Liz Partington
Liz is an experienced leader, people and project manager. Her specialisms include organisational development, building partnerships and managing change. Liz has overall responsibility for HR; Quality & Environment Systems and Internal Communications.
Laura Webb
Laura has a wealth of experience in transformational change across a number of sectors, including utilities. She leads the Delivery Directorate to achieve a Scotland-wide change in energy usage and understanding so that people can be comfortably warm in their home with the minimum environmental impact. The Delivery Directorate works to deliver people and community-oriented services so that everyone can thrive with a low carbon impact.
The Delivery Directorate encompasses the delivery of Home Energy Scotland services in the South East and Highlands and Islands; our Community Engagement and Energy Advice Services; Consultancy; Project Management and Service Development and Improvement.
Graeme Farmer
Graeme is a CIMA qualified accountant with extensive experience of financial management in the third sector. In his role as Finance and Central Services Director, Graeme leads the Finance, ICT and Facilities teams.
George Drennan-Lang
George has spent his career innovating and developing new service models and securing sustainable income growth for some of the country’s leading social purpose organisations. He has a track record of leading and managing cross-organisational change, developing organisation culture alongside shaping strategic, financial and business plans.
George has overall responsibility for Business Development, Digital and Marketing Communications, Policy and External Affairs alongside our Strategic Development Team who are building our homeowner retrofit service, EcoCosi.
Del Redvers
Del has extensive experience in the sustainability leadership across the private, public and voluntary sectors. He is currently Corporate Affairs Director for BMT, a global science and engineering consultancy. Del has been a member of or advisor to boards in the UK and overseas. A Changeworks‘ Board member since 2017, Del took up the role of Chair of Changeworks‘ Board in May 2020.
Jo O’Hara
Jo runs her own consultancy business and is an international convenor and coach. Previously Chief Executive of Forestry Commission Scotland and Scotland’s Chief Forester, Jo has an extensive career in public sector leadership with particular expertise in sustainable land use, and associated environmental, social and economic aspects.
Her current portfolio includes several non-exec roles, leadership of a trans-European forest habitat restoration project, executive and team coaching, and consultancy for government and community clients in the UK and abroad.
Eleanor Bird
Eleanor is a former councillor for Edinburgh’s Forth Ward, where she sat on a number of committees, including the transport and environment committee. Before returning to Scotland, Eleanor spent her twenties working as an actor in London. She holds a 2:1 from the Open University, having studied contemporary politics and sociology.
Abi Gardner
Abi is NatureScot’s 30×30 and Nature Networks Project Officer, where she works to ensure that 30% of land in Scotland is protected for nature by 2030. She has a background in ecological and environmental science, particularly ecosystem services. Abi also brings knowledge and skills in youth leadership, campaigning and behavioural change.
Lindsay Scott
Lindsay is an Investment Manager at Walter Scott where she has a particular focus on responsible investing. Over the the last 20 years, Lindsay has worked across geographies and sectors identifying sustainable businesses that consider social and environmental impacts, as well as financial returns. Lindsay is also a Trustee for the National Museums of Scotland Charitable Trust and a member of the Green Angel Syndicate, a network of individuals looking to invest in innovations to fight climate change.
Nicola Walters
Nicola has worked with some of the world’s largest financial services companies and is currently Chief Transformation Officer and Senior Director at Deloitte. With a wealth of experience in bringing people together to overcome what are often thought of as impossible challenges, Nicola is a leader who believes in doing what’s right, not what’s easiest. She has won an Entrepreneur of the Year Award, been a Shell LiveWire finalist and, in 2018, Nicola launched an award-winning company that embraced sustainable practices.
Nigel Douglas
Nigel has experience in new business start-up, commercialisation, operations, market development and business growth. He has a passion for the environment and says his entrepreneurial outlook helps to drive change and develop new ideas.
Steve Russell
Steve is a designer with a passion for making things better. He specialises in human-centred design, with expertise in making sustainable innovation happen across the public, private and third sectors. Steve’s interest in how community empowerment can drive behaviour change inspired him to join the Changeworks Board.
Jason MacGilp
Jason brings over 35 years’ experience through his work across a range of senior and executive roles working in housing associations and local government, and is currently the interim Deputy Chief Executive at Govan Housing Group.
As former Chief Executive at Cairn Housing Group, and having sat on the boards of the Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland and the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, Jason has a track record of collaborations on driving service change and improvement and working with partners to achieve business growth.
