Changeworks’ Low Carbon Communities team works with households at a community level to create the motivation and knowledge to help make low-carbon living a reality for many.
Our community engagement work builds trust within targeted audiences and enables action at scale. It is also key to reaching under-represented groups such as minority ethnic groups and rural communities. These households are often less likely to take action to decarbonise their homes due to barriers that can be overcome through community engagement.
Our team of community engagement specialists can support partners to create a programme of activity that is tailored to specific groups to achieve agreed outcomes.
We do this by using our knowledge base of community engagement tools, techniques and resources, and through understanding the objectives of engagement and the commonalities of the community itself.
Our community engagement work can support households in or at risk of fuel poverty, or households that are able to fund improvements to their home that will reduce their impact on the environment.
By involving volunteers in our work, we can reach and help more people. Volunteers are part of the communities we work in and can act as trusted local voices. We are proud to hold the Investing in Volunteers accreditation.
