Changeworks, Scotland’s leading environmental charity, has launched a new service to reach customers at risk of being left behind in the transition to net zero.
Funded by SP Energy Networks, the Green Energy Helpline will provide personalised advice on the best options for households in Central and Southern Scotland to help them adopt low-carbon, sustainable technologies in and out of the home.
With more people than ever in fuel poverty and with the accelerating climate emergency, it has never been more important to help customers understand how they can switch to more sustainable energy use. By calling the Green Energy Helpline from Changeworks, customers receive tailored, expert advice on low-carbon technologies for the home, as well as advice on smart meters, tariffs and electric vehicles.
Changeworks’ accredited advisors engage with thousands of people each year, providing up-to-date energy and low carbon technology advice and support.
Through the charity’s range of expertise, customers can benefit from tailored advice on energy use in the home and sustainable technologies, through to in-depth support with fuel debt and billing issues.
Through this partnership with SP Energy Networks, Changeworks has added a new element of support to its portfolio of services which includes the delivery of Home Energy Scotland in the Highlands and Islands and South East of Scotland and its joint venture partnership Warmworks.
Josiah Lockhart, Changeworks’ Chief Executive said: “Our aim is to support householders across Scotland to access the advice and support they need whilst we decarbonise Scotland’s homes. In the last year, Changeworks has provided energy advice to over 64,000 householders.
“While this has made a real difference, we all need to do more to ensure no one is left behind. This new service will enable the us to support even more people across Scotland towards a fair and equitable path to net zero.”
